MyPillow in Omaha, Nebraska - Thank You

I'd like to thank everyone for their review of MYPILLOW. You have saved me from wasting my money on this product. I find it better to just go to Walmart and actually handling the pillows they have there and making my choice. I ended up purchasing two of their Beauty Rest pillows I believe for about $14 each (purchased a few months ago). They have held up pretty well and my favorite thing about them is that they stay cool while I sleep which is a plus in my book. We live in a day and age when a persons word or handshake isn't as trustworthy as it used to be. Would you buy a car without first checking it out? I compare the price of pillows and cars because money is money and unless you're wealthy you should make good a judgement before spending any of it. That's where investing money in the magazine Consumer Reports should come in. It will pay for itself the first time you make a purchase based on its report of the product that you bought. These forums are ok to get some insight from others on a product but for a professional opinion Consumer Reports gives you the full scoop. I've been a subscriber for over 30 years and it has saved me loads of money.

MyPillow in Independence, Missouri - Giant Piece of **

This is the most disappointing product I have bought in a very long time. First, they advertised that you would get two "Go anywhere pillows plus two Mypillows" for the price of one pillow. We stressed for months over spending $50 each for pillows and finally decided that if it meant a decent nights sleep it would be worth it. WRONG! Not only did the company NOT send all four pillows, but the two they sent are J U N K. These are no different that the pillows you find in cheap motels! I could have shredded an old camper mattress and had a better pillow. THEN to add insult to injury I see the at WALMART of all places-- price... $49. Livid! Sending them back will cost about $30 so we've done the math (again) and found that we will just deal with the lie and tell everyone we know-- DON'T BUY THIS PILLOW!

@Anonymous:

Please see my comments about MyPillow below. I didn't buy one, and never will but, when a product like this one is offered for sale under false claims, we must do everything we can do to have it removed.

I hope you'll find my suggestions helpful.

Jim

Mypillow Commercial Review from Cabery, Illinois

1.6
Details
This is not a review, as I don't own this product. I didn't buy one BECAUSE of what I saw on the commercials and on the half-hour late-night infomercials. The claims and the animated graphics just seemed wildly unfounded, and I said to myself, "That's nothing more than an ordinary, ten-dollar foam rubber pillow." What I don't understand is why a consumer would be required to wash the pillow before it's used for the first time. Why aren't they washed at the manufacturing facility, like any other, less expensive pillows? As an engineer and the holder of several patents, I also don't understand how the "inventor" of this product was awarded a patent for chopping the fill material into three different sizes; it doesn't require a dedicated process, and it can be done with equipment readily available to anyone who cares to purchase it (all that's needed are three rotating spiked drums and a conveyer belt). As for the "scientific support measurement," I'm not seeing any actual science here. The animated graphics which purportedly support these claims are, I suppose, impressive to the layman, but they do not, in any manner, prove anything. I can hire a graphic illustrator to make a video showing people how they can put a tornado into a Mason jar, and then release it later as a means of mowing their lawns. I could make another one demonstrating the health benefits of drinking molten lava aimed at men with prostate issues. These concepts are ridiculous, of course. However, by utilizing a constant, nationwide late-night advertising campaign, I'm equally certain that either or both of these ludicrous ideas would garner several thousand orders from people who simply WANT to beleive my false claims were true, especially if I included a few key words like "guaranteed," "full refund" and "ten-year warranty." Toss in a few testimonials from out-of-work actors playing "satisfied customers" and I'd be a millionaire in no time. Well, at least until the wrongful death suits began to pour in from the families of the poor souls who were naive enough to send me their money. While I don't believe MyPillow will cause anyone to die, I am seeing complaints of headaches and other adverse health issues from consumers of this product. If you're experiencing any adverse effects after buying and using MyPillow, the proper course of action is NOT to complain to the FTC or the Better Business Bureau. Rather, you'll get much better results if you file your complaint with the United States Attorney General. If you're going to throw your $50+ pillow away, send it along with your complaint. Believe me, it won't take long to get the results you desire once her office receives enough pillows. I'd also recommend sending a photocopy of your written complaint to the United States Food and Drug Administration, and another to your state's Attorney General. It's the AG's job to investigate fraud, and the more complaints they receive concerning a specific product, the more likely they are to launch an investigation. Likewise, the Food and Drug Administration will investigate products and their manufacturers when they receive a sufficient number of reports of similar or identical side effects caused by any product being sold to American consumers. Complaining on message boards like this one might make you feel better for a while, but knowing you had a significant hand in solving the problem for good is much more satisfying.

Thanks so much for a very informative review and the course of action to take should we succumb to these late nite product scams.

MyPillow in Petoskey, Michigan - Do not waste your money!

This pillow is worthless. I was skeptical, but because my neck issues seriously impede my ability to sleep comfortably, I decided to try it. Knowing that it sometimes takes a while for your body to adjust to a new pillow, I used it for several weeks before judging it. I can now say that it definitely does not live up to the hype. I am astonished that its creator continues to make statements about it, such as keeping its shape. It does NOT keep its shape, it does not help me sleep, and, in fact, I believe it has made my neck worse.

I agree with the 62 year old man who bought 1 queen sized pillow at bed bath and beyond. We bought two queen sized extra firm pillows at J.

C. Penneys about two months ago. Absolutely the best pillows we have had in years. Just watched the commercial about MY PIllow and laughed at it.

Went online to see what it was filled with, was shocked.

My husbands family made their own pillows, using eiderdown filling.. We spent about an hour shopping for the pillows we now use.

I ordered two different pillows. After a few nights my husband and I both agreed they were not keeping there shape. I feel like the owner is using his crucifix as a prop to sell his product. I wear a crucifix too but not for the same reason. He is a phony.

MyPillow in New York, New York - MY PILLOW - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Just because something is "SEEN ON TV" does not make it a good product. Mike Lindell's MY PILLOW commercials are bad enough to begin with but what really matters is the product itself. I ordered two thinking it might be just what I needed for my own sleeping difficulties. Sorry to say, this expensive pillow is a complete rip-off. It is not anything that Mr. Lindell advertises and, quite frankly, is just plain uncomfortable. I mean it is really horrible. I should have had a clue after unpacking it and finding two flat, rolled up things that, when opened up, became pillow that felt like nothing more than foam rubber chips inside. I ought to have returned them for my money back (as promised) but that seemed like more work than they were worth. Suffice it to say, these two pillows most definitely not being used. Do not be mislead by all the promises and flashy advertising. MY PILLOW is a poor pillow and you will not be happy with it.

I couldn't agree more. I decided to order one of these pillows (king size).

After placing it in the dryer twice to "fluff it up", it was still flat & "lumpy". I returned it yesterday via FedEx for a "partial refund" since the cost of shipping it was $20.00.

The owner must of have quite a bit of income to advertise as often as he does. SORELY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Ummm... You have to put them in the dryer for 10-15 min when you get them to fluff them up.

Says so right in the commercial you hate so much and I'm sure it says that somewhere on packaging or paperwork that you failed to read.

100% user error. Nice job guy

I know on qvc (where I bought two for $64 total) they say to throw it in the dryer first before you mold it to your head. Would that help?

MyPillow in Mount Laurel, New Jersey - My Pillow complaint for the two King Size Firm that I purchased

After all the commercials both on radio and T.V. I decided to order two King Size Firm with their pillow cases. Put them in the dryer for 15 minutes just like the instructions and my wife and I used them that night. I lasted less then a hour and went back to my old pillows, she tried it all night and woke up with a stiff neck. Waaay too soft, no support, was just like any other cheap foam pillow but these cost me $169.00 all up. Called the next day to return them and get an RMA but they did not give it cheerfully. Will never buy another pillow unless they are in front of me and I see them first. Cost me $10.00 to return them also. I have no idea how they can sell this junk and continue to sell them. I also should have read the reviews before I bought but I listened to the commercials and thought it must be good, WRONG! Dave

The advertising was so believable, but if you live in Hawaii and don't like the pillows and want to return them, it'll cost you over $50 to ship back the pillows that the company will likely throw away! I asked the company if there was any other resolution to a Hawaii...
